Florian Mauerer
Life & Leadership Strategist.
I believe every leader carries a hero within them — most just haven’t met that part of themselves yet.
My experience
01 — The world I came from
Success. Responsibility. Pressure.
I spent two decades in the high-stakes worlds of global strategy and corporate operations: BCG, Zeiss, and Oerlikon. I led large teams, delivered metrics, managed P&Ls, and built exactly the career that was expected of me.
I learned to think clearly, make difficult decisions and deliver under pressure. I also learned how easy it is to hide uncertainty behind a confident exterior.
02 – The disconnect
I was playing the game. But losing myself.
From the outside, everything made sense. The career. The titles. The achievements. But I was living by a playbook I had never truly chosen.
The more I achieved, the harder it became to ignore the distance between who I was and who I thought I had to be. The question would not go away: Is this really it?
03 – The turning point
Where I met myself.
It did not come from another promotion or title. It began when I stopped looking for the next achievement and started looking honestly at myself. The expectations I was carrying. The fears behind my decisions. The difference between what looked right and what was true for me.
That honesty gave me something no promotion ever had: the clarity to see what was true, the freedom to choose what mattered, and the courage to act on it.
04 My work today
Soul + Strategy. In business. In life.
Today I work with executives, entrepreneurs and leadership teams at important turning points. Sometimes it’s a decision that has been stuck for months. Sometimes it’s a leadership team that needs to move as one. And sometimes it’s deeply personal: Is this still the life I want to live?
As an engineer and strategist, I learned to read systems with precision. But the hardest challenges are often human. The truths left unspoken. The patterns we keep repeating. The fears behind our decisions. Real change takes both: the depth to see beneath the surface, and the strategic rigor to turn that insight into action.
The facts.

Many leaders didn't fail. They lost themselves in success.

Why I do this.
The world needs real leaders.
I’ve seen what happens when success becomes an endless race. Brilliant people lose themselves. Teams lose their connection. And even great results can come at a cost no one talks about.
I believe we can do better.
We don’t have to accept corporate madness as the price of success.
We can achieve extraordinary things without sacrificing who we are. Build teams that bring out the best in people. Create success that leaves room for freedom, joy and a life fully lived.
That’s why I do this. To help people lead from who they really are, shape a future they believe in and create something that matters beyond themselves.
Why art? Why heroes?
Discover the story behind the names.
We live in three modes. Play seeks joy and lightness. Competition seeks victory, recognition and status. Art seeks truth, meaning and something worth creating.
Much of the business world runs on competition. And competition can become a game of ego. I know that world. I won in it: titles, budgets, applause. And somewhere between the victories, I lost the one thing that never fit on a business card: myself.
At its highest, leadership is not a game to win. It is an art. The art of taking the ego off the throne and staying truthful. To the world. And to yourself.
And this art demands something the business world doesn’t always reward: the courage to question yourself, even when you’re winning. The ego fights back; it was built to keep you safe. But when you move beyond it, something remarkable happens. You begin to see beyond yourself, bring out the best in others and create something that matters.
Not for applause. Because it is worth doing.
A hero is not the one chasing glory. It is the one willing to stand for something beyond themselves.
When the ego steps down, the armor comes off. You stand there, visible, vulnerable, real. You face what is true, even when it challenges everything you thought you knew. You let go of the roles you have outgrown and choose a life that is truly yours.
The bravest journey may be the one back to yourself. But it doesn’t end there.
When you no longer need to prove yourself, you become free to give more of who you are. To others. To the world. And to something greater than your own success.
Free. Whole. Here to leave a mark.
